Bracing for the Storm:When it rains

The best laid plans can go wrong sometimes

The recent rain floods in Lagos last weekend (weekend of the 10th) was traumatic to say the least. One really had to be in Lagos to experience it as the damp, the wet  and the cold can only be imagined. Sad enough, there were reports of fatalities, which really is the worst thing which could happen.

It got me thinking of all those who must have had events that weekend and the rain must have put a dampener on things, literarily! What does a bride/ host do in such a crazy circumstance?  I’m wondering if any of Jwi readers was affected in this way by the flood? I would love to hear from you.
We should have rented the hall after all ;-(
Fortunately, I didn’t have any event holding on the 10th and while I’m experienced enough to expect the unexpected [see this post], I honestly would not have known what to do! I mean the best laid plans and all- have you ever had your event ruined by bad weather or any other reason, absolutely beyond your control? What did you do to cope?
When you can't fight the rain!

Vendor Policy:

The following vendor guidelines apply when posting about, or as a vendor:

JustWeddings Inspired would never do anything to jeopardize the editorial integrity of the blog. Although we may receive offers where advertisers would pay us to write positive reviews of their products, they will be turned down. We do not receive any payments, kickbacks or discounts from vendors.

You are welcome to leave reviews of any vendors featured on the blog. With great power however comes great responsibility. If you do name a vendor, please write any posts in a factual manner as sharing your experience in an even handed way lets other readers make their own informed opinions.

If you want to vent very specific angry or emotional thoughts, you may want to refrain from naming your vendor as you might not have given them the chance to respond and take action.

At any rate, it is more effective to address such issues on a different forum than this blog.
