Vendor Scoop: Fifi's Sweet Sophistication

Monday, 30 August 2010

It was my dad's 70th birthday recently, so I figured I'd celebrate by featuring a cake designer who's quite dear to me. Fisayo Gbenle-Olaleye the designer behind Fifi's Oven, is quite a remarkable artist. Not only are her cakes delicious, but I love the way she uses her materials in a completely unexpected way.
Each cake is incredibly elegant and unique. When flipping through her portfolio, I was immediately struck by her use of fondant to create interesting texture and pattern. What really stands out and impresses me the most was the use of fondant as though it were fabric – many of the cakes had interesting drapes, pleats, delicate petals and ruffles that created a truly unique signature design element. Fifi's Oven is based in Lagos and always professional, they are definitely one of those vendors who think outside the box. Take a look at some of the other amazing work Fisayo has done, either on her website   or facebook group
Pure Elegance!

Vendor Policy:

The following vendor guidelines apply when posting about, or as a vendor:

JustWeddings Inspired would never do anything to jeopardize the editorial integrity of the blog. Although we may receive offers where advertisers would pay us to write positive reviews of their products, they will be turned down. We do not receive any payments, kickbacks or discounts from vendors.

You are welcome to leave reviews of any vendors featured on the blog. With great power however comes great responsibility. If you do name a vendor, please write any posts in a factual manner as sharing your experience in an even handed way lets other readers make their own informed opinions.

If you want to vent very specific angry or emotional thoughts, you may want to refrain from naming your vendor as you might not have given them the chance to respond and take action.

At any rate, it is more effective to address such issues on a different forum than this blog.
