Is the wedding and event industry overcrowded?

Hi people,i just saw this article on my mentor and teacher Preston Baileys blog and wanted to share it with all.

wedding industry overcrowded

Sometimes it seems like everyone and their mother is getting the wedding and event design and planning bug! Do you know what I mean?
I’ve heard other designers and planners complain that our industry is getting way too crowded, and I know some folks worry that soon there won’t be enough business to go around. Personally, though, I think that’s plain nonsense. What about the fashion industry, which has been around a lot longer than the wedding industry? There are more fashion designers than ever, but that industry is still doing fine!
Instead of wasting so much time and energy being concerned about whether or not our industry is too crowded, we should all be thinking hard about unique ways each of us can contribute creatively to our industry so that it continues to grow and prosper. Have a little faith, friends! I sincerely believe that there is more than enough work for all of us.
I consider my life and my place in the wedding and event industry as all just part of my personal journey of discovery and growth. And just like with anything else, we must be willing to put in the necessary time and patience. Whether it’s a “good” year for our industry or a “bad” year, I applaud everyone who joins our ranks, especially those who are talented, hardworking and motivated.
Dear Readers, what do you think? Do you ever feel like newcomers are taking business away from you? Is our industry overcrowded? Please share your thoughts. I’d like to hear your opinion!

JustWeddings Inspired would never do anything to jeopardize the editorial integrity of the blog. Although we may receive offers where advertisers would pay us to write positive reviews of their products, they will be turned down. We do not receive any payments, kickbacks or discounts from vendors.

You are welcome to leave reviews of any vendors featured on the blog. With great power however comes great responsibility. If you do name a vendor, please write any posts in a factual manner as sharing your experience in an even handed way lets other readers make their own informed opinions.

If you want to vent very specific angry or emotional thoughts, you may want to refrain from naming your vendor as you might not have given them the chance to respond and take action.

At any rate, it is more effective to address such issues on a different forum than this blog.
